Advanced Supervision
Advanced Supervision, both individual and in groups, is intended for experienced ISTDP therapists who wish to refine their clinical skills, deepen their understanding of complex psychodynamic processes, and continue their professional development within a community of peers. The group provides a stimulating and collaborative environment in which participants present challenging cases, review recorded sessions, and engage in in-depth clinical discussion.
Who is it for?
This group is suitable for:
– Therapists with established training and experience in ISTDP.
– Clinicians who regularly use ISTDP in their practice and wish to further develop their expertise.
– Practitioners seeking ongoing consultation for complex, treatment-resistant, or highly fragile cases.
What you can hope to achieve?
Through detailed case presentations, video review, and collaborative reflection, participants will:
– Refine moment-to-moment clinical assessment and intervention skills.
– Deepen their understanding of unconscious processes, resistance, and the therapeutic relationship.
– Develop greater sensitivity to recurring relational patterns and the ways these are enacted within the therapeutic relationship.
– Enhance their capacity to recognize and work with transference, countertransference, and therapeutic enactments as valuable sources of clinical information.
– Strengthen their ability to work effectively with complex, fragile, and highly resistant patients while maintaining a balanced therapeutic stance.
– Explore advanced ISTDP interventions with increasing flexibility, precision, and responsiveness to each patient’s individual needs.
Advanced Supervision offers an opportunity to deepen not only technical expertise but also the therapist’s capacity to think psycho-dynamically about what unfolds between therapist and patient. By attending closely to relational patterns and enactments, participants can develop a richer understanding of the therapeutic process and enhance their effectiveness in facilitating lasting psychological change.
